Paintings and Engravings

A prized view of the Lord family house shows downtown Portsmouth in the nineteenth century. Collectable engravings line the walls as they were gaining widespread favor as a way of having fair priced reproductions of well known oil paintings, such as those by as Gilbert Stuart. At Rundlet-May House in any room a number of paintings and engravings hang on the wall; one part decoration, one part family memento; all of which contribute to the story of how the house evolved over time through generations.
